Hydroponic nutrient calculator for indoor growers
This hydroponic nutrient solution calculator helps indoor growers, greenhouse growers, and gardeners calculate how much nutrient to add to a reservoir based on water volume, dosage rate, feeding strength, and target EC. It is suitable for hydroponics, coco coir, drip systems, deep water culture, recirculating systems, and other indoor growing setups.
The tool includes a simple nutrient calculator, a multi-part recipe calculator, an EC target helper, and an EC to PPM converter so growers can mix feed solutions more accurately and compare meter readings more easily.
How to calculate nutrient solution
The basic nutrient formula is:

For reduced feeding, lower the strength percentage. For example, 50 L × 2 ml/L × 0.50 = 50 ml.
What each parameter means
- Reservoir volume: total water amount in the tank.
- Label dosage: recommended nutrient amount per liter.
- Strength %: feeding intensity compared with full label strength.
- Base A / Base B: separate nutrient parts often used in hydroponics.
- CalMag: calcium and magnesium supplement.
- Booster / Additive: optional supplement such as root, bloom, or enzyme additive.
- Starting EC: EC of plain source water before nutrients.
- Target EC: desired final EC after mixing nutrients.
- PPM scale: meter conversion standard, usually 500, 640, or 700.
Best practice for mixing hydroponic nutrients
- Fill the reservoir with water first.
- Add each nutrient separately.
- Stir thoroughly after every addition.
- Measure EC after mixing.
- Adjust pH only after all nutrients are added.
- Use the calculator as a guide, then confirm with your EC and pH meters.
