Measures plant canopy health via NDVI
This sensor is a two-channel digital sensor designed for measuring 650 nm (red) and 810 nm (NIR) wavelengths. It utilizes the SDI-12 communication protocol for data transmission. The sensor is housed in a durable aluminium casing, built to withstand challenging environmental conditions, and features a high-quality cable with pre-tinned pigtail leads for straightforward connection to dataloggers and controllers.
Typical applications include monitoring plant growth and vigor. NDVI values correlate with plant canopy leaf area and chlorophyll content, frequently employed to track spring green-up and autumn senescence. The sensor's cable includes an IP68 stainless steel connector, facilitating easy removal for maintenance or calibration in permanent installations.
