Sub-aquatic PAR measurement for coral aquariums
The MQ-650 ePAR meter measures PAR (400-750 nm) underwater. Its firmware automatically applies a correction factor for submersion, ensuring accurate readings under all light sources, including LEDs. The meter comprises a waterproof quantum sensor attached via a waterproof cable to a handheld meter. The waterproof sensor features a silicon photodiode with blue enhancement and proprietary optical filters within a robust anodized aluminum body with an acrylic diffuser.
This device is specifically designed for use in marine aquariums cultivating corals, providing precise light data essential for their growth. The manual meter itself is not waterproof; only the sensor and cable are designed for submersion up to 30 meters. This ensures reliable PAR measurements critical for coral health and aquarium management.
